Pro-Keds Unveils SS16 Royal Collection

Introduced to the world by George Mikan, basketball’s original big man, Pro-Keds first established itself as an athletic-wear shoe. Mikan’s style of play challenged the fundamental concepts of the game, so much that the rules were changed because of him. The changes, which resulted in the brand PRO-Keds making a shoe that was essential to Mikan, ended up becoming one of the first signature basketball shoes and led the Minneapolis Lakers to five NBA championships in the '40s and '50s. With history behind its belt, Pro-Keds looks to offer new styles and silhouettes with the release of its Royal collection.

The Pro-Keds Royal collection is equipped with enhanced last for a refined fit and molded footbed with open cell foam for improved breathability, the classic PRO-Keds Royal is constructed of durable 12.5 oz. canvas and features contrast stitching, iconic red and blue Powerstripes on an off- white midsole with a classic gum outsole.
