Leading up to the heavily delayed release of Cam'ron's Purple Haze album in 2004, countless Dipset mixtapes featured a "Purple Haze the album coming soon" drop that tiptoed the line of newsworthy and punchline. Over a decade later, Purple Haze is considered a New York City classic and the rapper is working with athletic sportswear brand Reebok on a sneaker of the same name.

"I got a deal with Reebok," the Harlem native told The FADER. "We're doing all the finishing touches."

A rep from the athletic apparel powerhouse confirmed Cam's statement to FADER and said that only 500 pairs of the shoe will be released and they will come in a purple box with a purple jump drive that contains a new Greg Korbas-produced song from the MC.

This will mark the first time Reebok collaborates with the Harlem rapper on a shoe. Previously, Cam alongside Juelz Santana were featured in several Reebok global campaigns for the release of the Ghost Pack, which consisted of different Reebok basketball iterations with a Miami theme to the shoes.

The Reebok Purple Haze sneaker is set to drop on Wednesday, April 20, at select Reebok retailers and boutiques.
