Washington Wizards guard John Wall met with fans at a New York City Foot Locker last night to celebrate the launch of his first adidas signature shoe, the J Wall 1. John signed autographs and took photos with fans who lined up around the building for a chance to meet the NBA All-Star.

The J Wall 1 is the first in a line of signature products designed for Washington Wizards NBA All-Star point guard and is now available for $115 at adidas.com and Foot Locker. During his meet and greet in NYC, we caught up with the NBA superstar to ask him about his J Wall 1 shoe, his Washington Wizards, Wale and what he listens to before his games.

How involved were you in the creative process of the J Wall 1?
I was in all the details so we talked about it often. Nowadays people want shoes that they can wear on and off the court, so we worked with different colors and different variations on the shoe. We talked about everything during the process, so I was really involved.

How does it feel to have your own signature line?
It's a humbling experience to have your own shoe. I would've never imagined it, but I just thank God.

Is there a story behind the J Wall 1 design?
Not really the design, but my main thing was trying to create my favorite East Coast cities and West Coast cities I needed on the bottom with my name on them, Wall, and my shoes have my dad's stuff on them. He passed away when I was 9 years old to cancer so between my mom and dad, and just having my name in the logo that's all that mattered to me.

How much fun did you have shooting the adidas Halloween commercial?
Oh it was fun, just to see those kids think that they were going to get candy at a haunted house and then surprising them with kicks and candy was fun. It turned into a riot outside, the parents wanted candy before the kids but it was fun!

What part of your game did you work on during the off-season?
Posting up and shooting floaters. I can take the contact but at times you don't want to take it all the time. I think working on that you just don't want to get fouled as much, so you can get the opportunity to shoot floaters and post up against smaller guards.

How does it feel to have Wale as Creative Liaison of the Wizards team?
It's cool. He's from there so it's pretty big. I think just about every team in the league is going to start finding a rapper or somebody that can relate to the sport. I think Drake was the first one to set the bar and to see all the great accomplishments he's having with them I think every other major city is going to try to have somebody.

What are you listening to before your games?
Dej Loaf, my nephew raps so I listen to him. Lil Wayne is my favorite rapper, Meek Mill, Lil Durk all those guys.
