First Picture Of Andre 3000 In Jimi Hendrix Biopic Released

Andre 3000 signed on to take the role as Jimi Hendrix in the upcoming biopic based on the guitarist. The first screenshot of Dre in the movie has been released, which you can check out above.

The picture was taken from the Toronto International Film Festival’s website, where the biopic—titled All Is By My Side—will premiere in September. Below, you can read a new description of the biopic:

"Jimmy James, an unknown backup guitarist, left New York City for London, England in 1966. A year later he returned — as Jimi Hendrix. All Is By My Side brings authenticity and poignancy to the story of the man behind the legend, and of the people who loved and inspired him."

All Is By My Side will find Andre 3000 performing songs by The Beatles and blues icon Muddy Waters. Unfortunately, the film won’t feature any songs by Hendrix, as his estate declined permission. The film focuses on Hendrix’s period in England over 1966 to 1967. Directed by John Ridley, the supporting cast includes Hayley Atwell, Imogen Poots and Burn Gorman.
