Five Jay-Z Songs Dedicated to Potential Brooklyn Net Dwight Howard

NBA superstar Dwight Howard is pretty close to becoming a member of the Brooklyn Nets as multiple reports say the Nets, Magic and Cavaliers are close to completing a three-way trade that also would send Brook Lopez to Orlando and Kris Humphries to Cleveland. Not only that, but Howard has publicly stated on several occasions that Brooklyn is at the top of his list —making it known to other suitors that's the team he hopes to be with.

Twitter exploded on Sunday (July 8) as sources leaked the possible news, with all the hype being that Howard's signing to the Nets, alongside recently signed point guard Deron Williams and sharp-shooter Joe Johnson, might be the start of another “Big Three” within the NBA. Is this the beginning of a dynasty for New York’s other team?

"On to the Next One"

If Dwight indeed makes the switch, what better Jay-Z song title to reference his move than this one?

"Change Clothes"

Dwight's potential trade to the Nets will obviously mean he will have to also swap his black, blue and white Magic uniform colors to just black and white to rep his new squad. Brooklyn!

"Run This Town"

Much like Jay-Z, Kanye West and Rihanna run it on this track, will Howard, Williams and Johnson run New York basketball in 2013?

"99 Problems"

Howard may have a list of issues (recent back surgery, baby mama drama, public perception, indecision), but his quest to be in the Big Apple might soon not be one of them.

"Empire State Of Mind"

Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' ode to the Empire State is an anthem that speaks to the beauty and danger of the city that never sleeps. Superman has to have an "Empire State of Mind" frame if he’s going to succeed in Brooklyn.
