The theater was already a ‘gun free zone’.

This tragedy is already an example of how gun control will not work.

I absolutely assure you that in a gun controlled America, criminals will simply acquire or fabricate guns, and therefore will still be armed. This theater was a disarmed zone. You really thin its a good idea to make all of America be such a matching environment? After all, when seconds count, police are only minutes away(or more).

Guns are needed to protect oneself against rogue governments; the state of the US government is quickly approaching to be such a government.

The idea is that people are able to defend themselves against the army with similar weapons. If you want to ban assault rifles then also ban them from the military and police force, this will safe many more lives than banning them only for the common population.

(Switzerland has more weapons per person than USA and negligible gun crime, the reason for the crime is not in having the guns but lays somewhere else. It’s easy to blame the having off, instead of looking for the cause.)
