Fans of the former Dipset affiliate Max B continue to keep his story alive with the release of a new exclusive T-shirt.
The Student Hip-Hop Organization has collaborated with Photographer Alexander Richter to create the a tee in honor of the incarcerated rapper. The shirt was inspired by one of the popular Byrdgang rapper's songs, “ Money Make Me Feel Better,” and finds him holding up a fan of hundred dollar bills, rather than the overused free-insert name here- shirts fans have become accustomed to seeing.
The Harlem rapper, whose real name is Charly Wingate, has been in a New Jersey State Prison since 2009 after he was convicted of nine counts of robbery and conspiracy charges stemming from a botched robbery in 2006 that resulted in the murder of David Taylor. Max was sentenced to 75 years but had hoped that a successful appeal would set him free in 2011. The New York native was well known by his moniker, Biggaveli, a combination of Notorious B.I.G. “Biggie” Jay-Z “Jigga” and Tupac’s “Makaveli”. Max was rising high in the rap industry, making appearances on many Dipset albums and penning the chorus to Jim Jones “We Fly High” in 2006 before going to jail.
All the proceeds for the shirts will be donated to Max B’s commissary. The shirts are available on the SHHO website. –Christian Mordi (@mordi_thecomeup)
