Rocawear releases its first ever television commercial, a retrospective of Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter’s journey growing up in Brooklyn to making music and eventually making history.
The Rocawear campaign represents Carter’s prowess as a businessman as well as his willingness to continue challenging himself to be more than merely a musician.
“My goal was to have one gold album and that was it,” explains Jay in the clip. “And then it became, I want to show that an artist can ascend to the executive ranks. Rocawear just keeps reinventing itself and redefining itself every single day.”
