On Wednesday night (December 1) in New York City, photographer Johnny Nunez celebrated the launch of his limited edition 59FIFTY hat at the New Era Flagship Store in Lower Manhattan. Nunez, who has been capturing some of hip-hop's biggest stars for years, including Jay-Z, Russell Simmons, Diddy, Young Jeezy and more, created the fitted to help bring recognition to the EYE CAN Foundation, a non-profit organization that works to improve the lives and opportunities of foster care for youth and the visually impaired.

The New Era x Johnny Nunez fitted is unique to this mission in that it has an inscription in Braille on the brim with the quote, “history repeats itself, opportunity does not, be ready.”

“I feel this event is historic and that we are doing something that has never been done before," said Nunez. "I am creating fashion by incorporating Braille for the visually impaired and blind. I am honored to have this opportunity.”

A portion of the sale of each hat, priced at $60, goes to to benefit the EYE CAN Foundation. —Adam Fleischer
