Reppin': My dad was in the military so we moved all over the place. The one place we stayed the longest though, was Virginia Beach, Virginia. That city helped shape who I am today. If im not in VA or New York, I'm in Tennessee. I got a lot of family in Ten plus, I love the woods so that’s where I am most of the time right now.

I've Been Rapping Since: Well I’ve been writing poetry since I can remember, but I really started to understand it in middle school. A Poet by the name of T.S. Elliot really inspired me to rap actually. I know that might sound strange, but when people were listening to Tu-Pac, I was reading Robert Frost and T.S. Elliot. When I did cut some music on, it was something like, Radio Head or Marvin Gaye, my sister is really responsible for how open I am in regards to what I listen to.

My style and/or skills have been compared to: Well whenever you have depth in your music, you will be compared to other artist that have depth in their music. Most people say my music sounds like a conversation…and that’s my goal really. To speak to someone through the music, in a way that makes you forget its rap….even if its just for a second.

My standout records and/or moments have been: I‘d been ghost writing awhile before I started to get the push to come out as an artist/writer from a few friends. That’s when I made the grey skies mixtape. After that I made a track titled “wanna be a writer” which DJ Bee had nick-named “note to Pharrell”, got popular in Virginia Beach, VA. After getting on Great Scotts blog site, this attracted the attention of Kristoff, who introduced me to Dame Dash and many others. I also linked with Coodie and Chike of Creative Control Tv around that time…they gave me lots of co-signs and shot the video “here we are”. Kayenecha with Gypsy Soul Ent. later reached out and set me up at last year’s Afram Fest in Baltimore, Maryland. After my show, Chrisette Michelle came back stage and explained how she was a fan of my music (which was cool since it was someone in a completely different genre). The first single, “a thought”, off of this new project titled Grey Matter, is like a collection of poems over jazzy/soulful/grey music (dropping via Creative Control Tv). All the videos for the project will be shot by Coodie & Chike.

I’m gonna change the game by: I wanna take everyday conversation, put it into poetry, and use music to touch people where my hands may not reach. Changing the game by making something worth making, as humbly as I can.

I’d Like to Work With: I’d love to work with Erykah Badu, Radiohead, Herbie Hancock, Q-tip, Pharrell, Mos Def would be dope.  The homie Mic.G, DJ Artifacts, Jessica Kaya, Myke Stallone, the list could go on and on.

My goal in hip-hop is: My goal in hip hop is to stay progressive while remaining myself. Achievements and awards would all be nice, but meaningless if I have to become someone else to obtain them. This world has so much sleight of hand and misdirection; when you see something that has no tricks to it, it stands out. It's real magic.

I’m gonna be the next: I'm going to be the next person to live life for a living. You can join me if you like. There will be lots of music.
