On this day, May 5, in hip-hop history... 1992: On May 5, 1992, Brooklyn hip-hop duo Gang Starr dropped their third studio album, Daily Operation. As the followup to 1991's Step Into the Arena, Daily Operation was an overtly political offering. Usually know for their underground sound, MC Guru rapped about Black oppression and American hypocrisy and the 18-track LP featured minimal guest appearances.
