After pondering on many comments about Rick Ross a lightbulb began to shine. I ask, what makes Rick Ross so different from IceCube, Dr Dre, Eazy E(rip) or Scarface, who in the upstart of their rap careers boasted about things(murder, rape, and drugs) that were untrue, but we(hiphop) call those cats legends and stone Rick Ross for stories of the dope game. By the the way Im a seasoned hiphop head(Born to Mack and Section 80 in rotation), Ok the guy had a job as a CO in the pass, so what……..Cube grew up in a middle class enviornment, with both parents who had values and such…….Dre, DJed in the mid 80s, not killed etc.. I mean yall get where Im going right? These are just stories from great writers that rap. Hell……. Dre doesnt write raps!, but somehow is known for classic albums/good rapper(go figure). Again I ask, why do we give others a pass, or believe the 3 16s of the so-called greats(the ones with shootem up bang bang images) yet crucify Ross?

If you been down with this South shit since its creation and new beginning 2006 (yes it was really then the new beginning started and Southern rap took over) you know he def aint one of the best at anything. His height was on Know What Im Doin off of Lil Wayne & Birdman – Like Father, Like Son album. That was in 2006. He hasnt done alot of great shit besides that Real Talk!!

XXLMag need to pay homage to great music and artists. Yes they always do but they keep paying homage to shit that isnt any good or worthy of a single post.
