I think you younger cats need to pay respect to the original cameo man Q-Tip. He wasn’t a battle rapper, and wasn’t known for ‘punchlines’, but this cat worked with EVERYBODY back in the day, and was really the first rapper to popularize cameo appearances. Of course this was a time when a rapper didn’t need 12 other idiots to help finish his album, but that’s another story.
Whether you think he made people look bad on their own records or not isn’t important, but Q-Tip was doing 6-10 cameos a year in his prime. He started this whole thing!! Some of the artists he worked for include but not limited to Beastie Boys, Big Daddy Kane, Black Eyed Peas, Black Sheep, Black Star, Busta Rhymes, De La Soul, Heavy D, Large Professor, Mobb Deep, Mos Def, The Roots, Slum Village, Tha Alkaholiks….. the list goes on and on!! Recognize!

Yeah, there’s no question XXL is a horrible magazine with unqualified employees. Honestly, I’m not sure why I still come to this site.
