Jean Grae aint ugly and Kid Sister got 1 vid playin…barely…they dont even really play her music in the US…not quite accurate to even lump her with Nicki – that would b an upgrade. Nicki has skills – she doesnt make every song a collegiate thesis but she knows how to put a song together and entertain masses. It is not enough to just rap u have to be interesting also if u wanna sell records to millions otherwise make demos in ya basement and play them for moms dukes. she will always tell u u have talent even if u suck! This interview annoyed me because she listened to Mobb Deep once in HS and she wrote a rap every 2 months. But she doesnt call herself a rapper and she thinks her music is “sophisticated” rhymin about pronails and gucci rag tops…its hoodrat shit on soul-less beats…Im confused and so is she. I dont think her horizons are very broad she sounds musically sheltered in this article. If u are a professional artist I expect u to be knowledgeable about music. Just like if u r a lawyer u should know the law…she is beautiful and its good to see women represented in hip hop but im turned off after reading this…

^^^I apologize for the misconstrued comment. It was meant to be a sarcastic comment.

I didn’t mean a female emcee have to REALLY be ugly. I used it in figurative sense, that a female emcee have to be all appearance first before anything. And it’s disheartening because I am rooting for the female emcee to make her presence in Hip Hop, but we have wack female rappers in an already f***ed up game that is image and imitators first instead of originators and innovators.

It’s bad enough that a guy who is true to the artform and true to himself have to battle for listening ears when there’s so much retarded bullsh** out there…so it’s even harder for a female emcee who can truly rhyme to break into Hip Hop.

BULLSHIT! I’m an up and coming female emcee and I’m not ugly at all. Since high school I have been compared to Method Man and Necro and Oschino Vasquez from State Property. Fuck Nicki. Kid Sister knows she’s not an emcee she’s said that before. She makes club music and she enjoys doing it. Now if she can admit that why in the fuck can’t Soulja Boy admit he’s not Hip Hop?
