I’m 34. I stopped listening to hip-hop about 15 years ago. but from what i see nowadays, it’s taken a sad and destructive path. the kind of culture I see that has rooted from this music appears to be dangerous, pathological, terribly ignorant, and self-destructive.
for a Black man, hip-hop is his ocean of quick-sand.
for all its charade of vanity, expensive barbles, and rolls-royces, hip-hop is merely a game of russian roulette. you win, win, and if lucky, you win again–until you get the chamber with the bullet. in essence, it’s a poor man’s wish, a rich man’s fancy, but a fool’s game–for all it’s worth. for the core underlying fundamentals of the music [if that's what you wish to call it] is a shallow bottomless abyss–that fattens a psuedo-american black man’s desire to embrace buffoonery.
but understanding america, that should come as no surprise. for a worthless [brainless] blackman, is still a valuable commodity to those who still stand to ultimately profit from the decline and stigmata of his character.
