I feel Rae and i always buy his music. Rae will always be lyrical and the problem with his albums have been the production not the lyrics, so with RZA on cubin Linx 2 it should be a good one. What happened with Rae and Ghost? Did i miss something? How can you not want to talk about Ghost when he was 1/2 of the Cuban Link album? Why are people saying the WU needs Rae to bring them back when Masta Killa(no said date), GZA(Grandmasters) and Ghost(Fishscale) just put out HOT albums and just about everything I’ve heard on Meth’s new CD is fire?

Rae is right, hip-hop is not driven by the skill of the artist anymore it’s driven by media hype. For better or worse hip-hop is a billion dollar biz now & I love to see young black cats gettin money but corporate executives are really controlling hip-hop on some greedy enron shit. They want the club song & the cross-over song, Cuban Linx aint have none of that shit, niggas crossed over them not the other way around. I’ve been a Wu-fiend from the get. At first I bought all of the tapes including Words From The Genius (The Reissue & the original), and the purple tape (Classic) and then I had to get them all over again on cd. Rae was never really my fav artist, I related mostly to RZA, GZA, Deck, & Meth of course but I consider OB4CL one of my fav albums to this day. No bullshit I’ve been listening to it nonstop along with Liquid Swords. Nas is one of fav artists as well and I can honestly say that I believe the Wu benefitted from Nas and vice-versa in terms of inspiritation. Therefore I can not agree with Rae in that comment however I do agree with him about the hicks in the south. Yeah the beats bump in the club but they have no substance at all lyrically and that’s what hip hop is all about. The Wu will return to the forefront once again because everything is a cycle just like the 80′s fashion is returning with a modern twist so will the Wu and hip hop in general. Yo Rae, that Wu concert in Worcester 2 months ago was amazing god. Keep up the good work cuz i’m a Wu-Tang fiend 4ever. I’ma still cop all the albums and bump them shits in my whip. PEACE!

I appreciate hearing the truth, and thats what Rae has just given us. Whether I agree w/ some comments he has made or not, I like the truth. He is REAL, the wu is REAL, and no, they have not been as successful lately as previous years, but they are keeping it real. I am from the south, and I agree with Rae all of the way about the elementary rhymes and pety artists these days. It is a new generation, but those who know about rae and the rest of shaolin will never forget. Who knows, will Rae be able to re-kindle the original ways of the wu and hip-hop like it was I dont know, but the Wu will never fall off. Much respect to you Raekwon and all the rest of your fellow clansmen, the definition of ORIGINAL HIP-HOP, you will shine again, and people will see. Stay up Rae.
