Tell us about yourself, what are you doing when you're not modeling?
First things first I'm a Mother. So when I'm not in front of the camera being a "vixen" I'm doing my normal daily routine of packing lunches, helping with multiplication tables and projects and what not. Home cooked dinners and making sure my baby girl stays on point in school. That's my first priority. After that I am a designer. Something I've dabbled in for the past 8 years or so. I'm finally working on my very own t-shirt line and looking forward to its lauch this Winter as well.

How did you get into the modeling industry?
I shot my first magazine spread in 2008 with Lowrider Magazine. Before that I was one of the spokesmodels for a swimwear line based in Southern California (which Im now patterned with and launching my own line soon) After that I dabbled in the industry here and there not really knowing if I was the "right fit". For the first 2 or 3 years in the industry it was hard for me to break into the "urban" industry. Believe it or not the Latin industry held me down!! But I felt like my body type wasn't what I saw in the urban magazines so I was discouraged. I took my time in building my name and tried to make sure to be careful as to what projects I chose because I didn't want to just be here for the moment, I wanted to be remembered for ever. It wasn't easy. I would say maybe after a good 3-4 years in the industry was when I made a mark in the "urban" industry and I shot with SHOW and did my first lead video with DJ Khaled "Take it to the Head" in 2012. And now we're here.

What would you say is the biggest misconception about you?
Sometimes I'm very quiet. Naturally I'm a shy and quiet person and some people may read that as "mean" or "bitchy" but I promise I'm really a sweetheart! More down to earth than many would know. But to honest, I hate stuck up people or people who think they're "better than" others or belittle them to uplift themselves. Those are the kind of people that do bring out my other sides. Which I've convieniently nicknamed Heavyn and Devilyn. I'd like to believe that I give out the nicest part of me when I first meet people. But don't cross me or take my kindness for weakness because there's that other side of Azia. And she's the one from South Central LA. Lol!

What would you say was your greatest accomplishment inside and outside of modeling?
Look, I took the entire year off in 2013 because of humiliation due to the snakes of the industry, stress, being played by corny photographers, directors and so on. I really had to debate if this is what I wanted to do anymore. It was hard. It wasn't easy and I was very stressed out and hurt over it. But I stayed strong to my passion and came back in 2014 with over 10+ publishings and a Cover! All of which are great accomplishments to me. Anything and everything is a accomplishment especially when I've had so many haters hoping I'd never make it. Well to my haters I say keep hoping!!

Outside of modeling I would have to say getting my business launched is my number one accomplishment. Just like Biggie said, "It was all a dream" and now I'm living my dreams. I can't complain.

Who is your favorite hip-hop artist and why?
That's really hard because I love and listen to everybody equally. If I had to choose it would be 2Pac hands down because he was a poet and I can totally relate to that him on that. Writing is and always has been my first passion. Music, poetry, plays, short stories. That's the real me. But I don't know! There's so many artists I love. There has always been something about Lil Wayne as well that I thought was super dope. I like is energy. Libras and Sagittarius' usely have a crazy connection. And even though we haven't met officially I feel like we'd be BFFs or something lol. He's pretty crazy. And I'm pretty crazy too! I like it. So I get it.

Who is your celebrity crush and why?
President Obama. I like my men in charge. But seriously, I've been around a million celebrities and I think if I met him he'd be the only person I'd actually get like "really" excited over. Sorry Michelle. I love you too girl! [Laughs]

What are your biggest turn-ons?
Money in the bank, Massages, Traveling and a nice smelling well dressed man by my side.

What are your biggest turn-offs?
The opposite of everything that turns me on. No money in the bank or motivation to go get it by any means is a big turn off! I don't like staying put too long so I like to travel and see new things. If you're boring or routine we won't click. And if you can't dress you can't sit with me. That goes for girls or boys. Depends how I'm feeling that day!

What qualities do you look for in a man?
Strong. I like a man that acts like a man. I need a manly type of man. Somebody with ambition and goals. I don't necessarily have a physical type. If I like you, I like you. White, Brown, Yellow, Puerto Rican or Asian! You just gotta be down with me and want something out of your own life. I'm that Bonnie. I just need a Clyde.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself owning my own business. Hopefully businesses by that time. I've always been a "hustler" so I plan to venture out in all the various projects that I'm interested in. I'd like to be the face of a product if not my very own. Basically, I hope to be on another platform to be able to show the world the gifts God's gave me and just who Azia D is.

What is a FunFact about you?
I've had everything pierced on my body at least once.

Any advice to the women entering the modeling industry?
I say to all the aspiring models I was once you. I didn't know where to go, I went through snakes just to get to the greener side of the grass and believe me baby it's not easy. My advice to you is to never give up. We are all the same. The only difference is that some of us didn't take that first "no" and run with it. This industry is full of no's. You just have to believe in yourself, put on that tough skin and take every experience as a learning but stepping stone to the next. You will constantly be tested but be true to yourself. My road was bumpy but at the end of the day I can't regret it. It made me stronger. I would much rather take my struggles in this industry over having to lie on my back to claim my fame. I'm a strong girl. And that's the first thing you need before you even set foot in this industry. You and you're morals. Because you (and God) are the only ones that has to live with "how you make it" at the end of the day.
