As a Sicilian myself, I take great pride in helping to promote my culture in a positive light. And who better, really, to represent my people than a beautiful Sicilian-by-way-of-Miami model, Pretty Sicily. I found out about this gorgeous girl after getting in touch with her manager, Sly—since I initially made contact, she has been featured in FHM Turkey, amongst other international publications. In this interview, we discussed her crush on Megan Good, her biggest challenges, and what advice she would give an aspiring model. —Bernadette Giacomazzo (@berngiacomazzo)

Tell us about yourself. Who are you? What do you do?

My name is Pretti Sicily. I'm from Cleveland, Ohio but now reside in Miami. I model for a Miami-based agency, TPM Agency. I'm currently busy shooting, hosting events and staying sexy.

You are, as your name indicates, Sicilian. How in touch are you with your Sicilian roots? How do you integrate your Sicilian roots into your look & your modeling career?

I'm very in touch with my Sicilian roots. My family is from Palermo, and I was last there when I was 10.  Naturally, when it comes to cooking, I am especially in touch with my Sicilian roots. My look isn't necessarily Sicilian—most Sicilians have dark hair, and I'm of course blonde. But I most definitely let my fans know my background from the name I chose.

What was the biggest challenge you've had to overcome, as a model? How did you overcome it?

The transition from Cleveland to Miami was tough—coming from little competition to being around so many beautiful models in Miami. I overcame it by being different, keeping my look different, and keeping my route as a model in one direction only.

Where do you see your career in 5 years?

Hopefully if things go as planned I would love to be on the cover of Maxim magazine and Playboy, after that, I'm ready to retire.

Who is your celebrity crush, and why?

Megan Good, Mmmm, those lips.

What is the best advice you've ever received?

If you expect the world to be fair with you because you are fair, you're fooling yourself. That's like expecting the lion not to eat you because you didn't eat him.

If you could give one piece of advice to an aspiring model, what  would it be?

Never give up! It can be very hard at first to get noticed or even acknowledged. If you have the drive in you, then you will make it. Remember, we all started somewhere.
