Erica Mena: “I Want to Play a Villain and With Jennifer Lopez”

Erica Mena is one busy young lady. The sexy New York native is currently busy splitting time between Los Angeles and Miami, working on her acting, modeling and music career. Here, the scorching hot model from 50 Cent's "Candy Shop" video talks to XXL about acting, her music and being single. Yes, there is a God.

Erica Mena on acting: Well even in the music videos, I haven’t really done roles where I just stood there. That was the one thing I made sure of throughout my career. I didn’t just want to blend in with everyone else. I made sure it was acting to branch out. I was actually one of the runner-ups for Teairra Mari’s part in the Lottery Ticket.  I’ve done a lot of independent stuff. I’ve done Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian’s reality show.

On appearing on Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami: It was a dope experience. I’ve known Kourtney for a while, but getting a chance to work with her was definitely different. I studied and sat back and analyzed how into business they were. That was one thing I saw in them that I took after. Whether it’s the show  or clothes, there’s always something you can do. Seeing that up close was something. It made me realize that you really can do any and everything, especially all at once. That was one thing I learned from them that was dope.

On making music: I’m in LA and going back and forth between Miami and stuff like that. It’s just right now, I’m putting it all together. I’ve been doing music for a while, it’s just now that I’m taking it more serious and going more full on with it. It’s going to be a pop, hip-hop sound. It’s something that you’d really like to hear moreso. It’s more club stuff and songs people like to dance to, so you can definitely feel that. I’m singing. Between acting and the music, I’m busy. I do have the capability to do it all full throttle at once.

On what she misses most about New York: The food and just the overall New York State of Mind feeling. I love my New York pizza and a Snapple Apple. I can’t find that Snapple anywhere in LA.

On her dream role: My dream role would be I definitely want to do something dramatic. I want to play a villain for sure and with Jennifer Lopez. That’s my idol.

On her favorite movies: West Side Story, Selena and Gia with Angelina Jolie. And I Like It Like That.

A secret itch she’d like to scratch: That’s a hard one. I do everything I want to do. That’s a hard one. I can see myself DJing in the club. I’d like to try that.

Ideal first date: I’ve been in long relationships of like seven years, so I really never had that…but it would have to be some place interesting.

On how a man can impress her: Be seriously genuine. Not immature.

Turn-ons: I like nice teeth and the mouth area.

Best body parts: My eyes and my lips.

On where she’ll be in 10 years: I would have done everything I wanted to.
