More grizzly news has come up from the horrific drunk driving incident at SXSW early this morning that killed two individuals. One of the deceased was a local Austin woman who was riding a moped. The second person who died was a Dutch man who was riding a bicycle.

Police informed that there are 23 other victims from the incident, five are critically injured. Two patients are critically injured with head injuries. Three other individuals are in serious condition, with a spinal fracture and minor head injuries. One is in good condition, and two were treated for minor injuries. Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo did not identify the driver or the victims and asked witnesses and individuals who took video to contact police rather than post it to the internet or social media.

Acevedo said officers initially tried to pull over the driver at a gas station around 12:30 a.m. The driver then fled a one-way street and turned onto Red River, going through a barricade. KVUE  reported that the driver was driving a car stolen from the Killeen area.
