consequence is a pretty good rapper but he’s not as good as push (inmo). Honestly, if Con had tried to battle P he would have gotten eaten and shit out FAST. Maybe thats why he didnt battle; but Ye’s given him 2 spots on tracks from his 5 albums (i think only Mos Def and Common can say that aswell). I think if Con came to Kanye Saying: “gimme a beat or a verse or some shit” Ye would help him like he’s done for Cyhi, Big sean, Twista and Cudi. But consequence done Goofed now

Cons has no identity or character for folks to catch onto. Many good rappers suffer from this. The game is too full of solid to good independent rappers without a hook for con to just spit good lyrics over ok to solid production. To be an entertainer or to get to the next level in this game means you must have a hook the industry is on some wwe ish.

For instance

Rick Ross- psuedo drug lord kingpin who was formly a co

Pusha-t and malice- everyones favorite local drug dealers who could really rhyme and made a come up aka they come off as yo cousin who did dirt to get it in. There character isn’t the strongest and can’t relate to eveyone so they stay in there lane.

Kanye- the fashion d bag/metro artistic guy to a tee. Also one of the better double threats in history on rhyming and production.

MF-Doom- The mysterious character who rhymes complicated interanal patterns and spits likes you walked into a cypher with him. Add a mask and comic book references and blamo this guy has a serious hook. The only thing that separates him from the mega bucks is the fact his style speaks to a niche market of heads and rhyme fans i.e. not pop.

Cons???? um- my cousin put me on… no wait…..um I ghost write for or had a song I created purchased from ye on his first album …..um(non ye stan peep his cadance and ye’s early cadance). um let see I am the everyday guy who happens to rhyme better than the average person um…. etc….

Sa-ra- is good but probably too experimental for the casual listner so their records won’t equate to sale in the short term until they get the big crossover hit.

bentley farnsworth-Belongs in the z-list world anyway. He can be the uber metro or androgenus member of kanyes suspect entourage.

GLC- stick wo weed carrying and occasional features. This guy is the equivalnt of ye’s tony yayo with better lyrics. which makes cons his loyd banks

big sean is dope but won’t get his shine due to so many pop cats jaking his style before he gets out of the gate.

A lot of ya’ll are speaking the truth. If your an artist that is sign to a major label that features a high profile artist, who has done promotional work for you, then it is up to you to create that appeal to the masses. Take Janelle Monae for example. She’s signed to Bad Boy under Diddy and everyone knows that if an artist isn’t making Diddy more famous then he or she wil be left in the waste side. But because her music was so good and she hooked up with artists that resembled her style (Big Boi, Cee-lo, Lupe, B.o.B) and performed on many television shows, she was able to build her buzz to where she doesn’t even need Diddy anymore leaving him stuck with the 3 year shit storm project Dirty Money. That’s what a lot of these dudes need to do. Build a buzz and fanbase to where you eventually don’t need the dude that put you in the scene. Kanye, Common, Cudi, & John Legend did it so I’m sure Cons can too.

I personally respect Consequence as an artist but, if people ain’t feeling u they just ain’t feeling u. Some dudes just don’t appeal to the masses for whatever reason.

I have been familiar with Con’s music since BRL and I have NEVER been compelled to cop anything of his.. or even listen to any of his mixtapes for that matter. He just don’t do it for me… and I’m a real hip-hop dude.

He should be happy with the career he has and if he isn’t, then like Meka said, GRIND HARDER!

lol I hope not for dude’s sake but I’m just sayin. It seems like with hip-hop, the deeper the crew gets, the more and more rappers get left out in the cold, waitin for their chance, especially if the head cats in charge don’t think they will blow up. Remember how long it took Deck and Masta Killa to drop solo records when Wu-tang was at it’s peak? Shit, Meth dropped his sophomore record before those niggaz dropped their first.
Hopefully I’m wrong and they will drop that Cons shit the same day as a Tribe Called Quest reunion album and Papoose’s debut lol.

Heres another prime example of a rapper using Twitter to vent his frustrations instead of putting them on wax.( Cudi vs Wale syndrome) Yo Cons back in the day if you thought a nigga was bitin your steez you’d spit a verse at em. Go at Pusha on wax if you got in a problem, I think son would eat him but the old fashioned way to do this is battle, not blog.

I personally like Quence. I think yall layin into him with a little too much hate, but everyones entitled to their opinion.

The bottom line is this: if dude is just jealous that Pusha is gonna drop before him, he needs to disassociate himself with GOOD music because Big Sean and Pusha got next and then it will be time for CyHi da prynce, another Kanye record, another Cudi album and Common’s the Believer album and maybe even a Mos Def album before Ye turns his attentions to dude. We’ve seen it happen many times before.

But Cons next time you mad, tell a nigga on wax, not on the internet.
