I know what’s wrong with hip hop…OVER-SATURATION. When an artist(s)bombard the nets with free music, some good, some trash, then as a consuming public we are digitally full. I can come on XXl any day of the week and see 10 new songs in the banger section from various artist. Once the artist create a need without releasing music on the regulak but still keep their name buzzing will be a good day for hip hop. You can’t possibly think putting out music every week/month is good for your brand. It’s not, it’s destroying it. The anticipation is what drives sales. Now we have an overload of music that we have a tiring time sifting through. Make us wait, make the music exclusive, make it an event and people will buy it. No One buys stuff they can get for free, that’s economics bruh. Simple Supply and Demand.

you kinda summed up what i’ve been thinking the last few days. kanye’s album less than 200,000 first week, which is gonna be seen as a failure. however, new album is great. although, it’s not as good as graduation, it’s an obvious improvement from 808s.
