As an international interpersonal communication doctorate student who is also a proud African American, I am appalled to read your childish degradation of the whole African American culture to smithereens with nothing but your “so-called hood knowledge” backing you up. Since I am precisely confident that whatever knowledge I or any of those comments above mine might bestow upon you will fall short to deaf ears, I’d rather ask you something… What would you suggest to make things better? You might respond by stating that you’re merely showing what is wrong with the US as a nation, but the truth is, you’re still adding to the whole racial tension present in the US, not helping incite tolerance.
PS- How absurd your totems are is beyond baffling. And to those who believe that Race is something that can be eliminated, please do give me examples of this happening. And for those who assume that Racism is nurture based, please do take a look at the “Clark Doll Experiment”. Racism is one thing; racism based on class, gender, age, sex, ability, religion…etc then, we get the problem with the US.

It’s the unintentional comedy of the title of this piece that really stands out. Yes, let’s “look through the eyes of a racist!” The – sorry – THA “God” that wrote this whiny drivel is presumably a member of that street-rat cargo-cult that believes that white people (created by a mad scientist) are “THE” (not “A”) grafted Devil.

If race-hate is so bad, then why is it an article of your personal faith? Do we all have a right to hate a particular race and scapegoat it for all our problems, personally and as a community, or don’t we? Who gets to decide? What would we see if we looked through your eyes? Do the knowledge “God”.

RACE………only exits because of racism. Racism is “the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics, abilities, or qualities specific to that ‘race’, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races” (quoted from Oxford English Dictionary).

Now go find a definition from a credible dictionary of the word “RACE”.
You’ll most likely find definitions that talk about a competition between runners, boats, horses, cars etc.

Therefore…….RACE in the context that has become should not exist.

Questions that are continually asked are;

****Why are people racist?
****Why does racism still exist?
****Why are some people so against Blacks, Whites, Indians, and Asians?

No one is born a racist. There has never been and never will be a scientific fact that proves people develop some type of racist tendency while their brain develops in their mother womb.

A person’s outlook on life, personality, and perspectives on others is largely based on how they are raised. Who raises children? Their parents or guardians.

If a child is taught certain things, overhears certain things, or is ultimately subject to certain things throughout their mental stages of development…………they will without doubt be affect by these factors.

If a child is shown the ways of violence and taught to kill at a very early age and consistently taught that this way of life is correct by the people they look up to (parents or guardians) they are going to become accustomed to these things and they will have no sense of wrong or right.

SAME thing applies for a racist. It is there parents and the people who have influenced them.

How do we stop racism???

STOP segregation in schools. ALL BLACK SCHOOLS? The notion of all black schools is absurd. This is working against what Black people have fought for, for hundreds and hundreds of years.

With ALL BLACK schools……..people like Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. have worked for nothing. Even the notion of all black schools gives the impression that MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DIED FOR NOTHING, which he most certainly did not

DIVERSITY IN SCHOOLS IN THE ANSWER.
If children are introduced to a variety of different races, ethnic backgrounds, and sexual orientations at an early age……there will be far less hatred in the world.

These children……….these children who attend diverse schools at a very early at (elementary schools but more preferably kindergarten) will become the generation who eradicates racism and the very word RACE in the context that we are talking about it. This generation of children will grow up to be parents one day. And it is most likely that their children will follow the same path as their parents.

Will this happen all over the world?
Most likely no.
But it’s a start. Something that I think can happen in North America. It will take time. But the dreams of Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr., and millions of other people in the world must continually be honoured and pursued.
AFTER ALL, WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS.
……well except Lil Wayne according to him.

Slavery was disgusting and horrible, as was the way blacks were treated like 2nd and 3rd class citizens for most of recent memory. But what good does it do to play the poor me card? I view the African American community off of there actions. Actions speak a lot louder than words and the actions I see are what I listed above. I am not racist towards the African Americans who do something productive but, I am racist to the ones who are labeled the “N” word b/c they bring nothing but shit to society. I have plenty of African American friends that try and I like them and if they didn’t try I wouldn’t be friends with them b/c they are pathetic. I also feel the same way about white trash.
Just try a whole lot harder and then maybe I wouldn’t feel that way about that certain class within your class.

I think you missed the point of this article. The reasons you listed as to why we as African-Americans are frowned upon were amusing to me. African-Americans actually feel the same exact way as you for the most part. Charlamagne, was just using the White racist’s p.o.v. as a vehicle to explain the totem pole that we as a people have been classified in for years. By racist white people & by our own doing. Racism has been an institution in this country since it’s fruition (i.e. SLAVERY). Sen. Strom Thurmond was a perfect example. His whole legacy is built off racism, & he has a BLACK daughter, GO FIGURE.
Also, it’s 2010, we as people really don’t blame White people for our problems. And, these so-called handouts that we need to fix our problems, really turn them into an issue. We all don’t gravitate towards government funded nonsense. Truth be told, ever since Wall Street crashed every race, color, & creed has needed and/or requested a hand-out. Based off of what you wrote YOU OBVIOUSLY VIEW US NEGATIVELY OFF TOP ANYWAY, which pretty much cements Charlagmane’s point. P.S. I GUESS YOU NEVER HEARD ABOUT REAGANOMICS or the CRACK-ERA, that didn’t become an issue until the CELTICS #1 pick died & until it drifted into working-class suburban areas….(Remember JUST SAY NO!)
