I hear you. I find myself listening to stations that play old school or just my mp3′s. Music sux ass nowadays with a handful of exceptions. I remember back in the day (I graduated in about 2000) when the pop shit was out. I still think that Fuel’s Shimmer is better than that bullshit Show me what you got, by Jay Z. By far. I loved Jim One’s first album, but aside from Ballin and the some of the max b hook fests, I can’t get into it.

Diddy, The Game, and AZ are all solid albums, fukk what u heard.

JT has the album of the year.

And I’m rediscovering my middle school days with Third Eye Blind’s masterpiece debut, that siht is, as bol would say, fukking nails!

I think a lot of what people including myself are feeling is the result of the cup overflowing so to speak. This quality music has given way to catchy, supposedly easily marketable product. Most of the music to come out since the end of the 90′s has been mind numbing at best. And it seems to get worse and worse every year.

The real problem is balance, if you look at how modern media disseminated trends in music especially, you can see that focus is just placed on a few aspects of the music. Anything outside of that is seen as wack or white/indy/nerd etc. the only representations they show are either aging pimps/gangsters trying to still look young, young wanabe pimps/gangsters whoare way to gae for anyones comfort, or down south club shit. I mean if i hea one more rhyme about dudes buying dope from poppy, i’m going to lose, cant these fake gangsters be at least remotely creative with their shit, what, everybody buys their imaginary dope from the same south american dude?

its all bullshit, packaged like a new brand of two ply toilet paper.
