My belief is that this individual is seriously mistaken. I have nothing against N. O. R. E. personally, but if you are going to attack the latin community with speculations concerning their status in society, I would put my money where my mouth is.
Reggaeton is the biggest advancement that music has had ever. In a matter of years reggaeton has exploded all over the nation and the world. Even people in India get down to dembow. The success of N. O. R. E.’s record isn’t a stain on the latin community, if i clearly remember the record came out on Def Jam which is mainly a hip hop record producing label. If you want a real latino record label that sells, check out Mas Flow records or W Y records or Machete music or Sangre Nueva music or Pina Records, wait should i even bother to continue?
Hip Hop is on its way out. It is getting “old”. Reggaeton is Hot and Hip Hop is not. Of Course Reggaeton is a Fusion of hip hop, latin, dancehall and Reggae but Latinos apparently don’t like music remember?
So take my advice buy as much hip hop as you can cause in a decade the only thing Def Jam will be producing is reggaeton. Tell jay-z his job will be shining shoes for the real producers, if he asks for a name? tell him The Luny Tunes. P. S. Roc La Familia is owned by Jay Z, its a reggaeton producing record label. Ahora Son Mejor?

Why is it that they seperate latino and black rappers now? but when we are living in the ghetto together we consider each other brothers. The fact is there are not many latino brothers in mainstream rap. we are mainly underground. but alotta mainstream rappers in fact are part or half latino such as llyod banks, fabulous, jim jones, juelz santana, N.O.R.E.. The Only full latino in mainstream rap is Fat Joe. so what we need to do is start blowing up our underground mc’s that talented like Agallah, Termanology and Cuban Link.

Ya’ll Need to stop seperating blacks and hispanics. The only thing that separate us is langauge. Hispanics (depending on what spanish speaking country) are black or have some European,Amerindian, Asian, african roots. So like it or not we stem from some of the same people. Also as far as reggaeton selling, its just like reggae. Reggae does not really fair well in the US market and thats english but does well in the english/spanish speaking caribean & South America and vice versa with Reggaeton. Im black and embrace all music within the culture whether its in french, dutch, spanish, english, potuguese, arbaic, or whatever other langauge our people speak. We need stop separating and uniting if we united we can really change things
