Does this article have a point tuit? I sounds like ur trying to say that white people are ruining rap by listening to it, so then black artist gotta do somethin else to please the fans and are kinda forced to ‘sell-out’ it’s happening all over the place. K the truth here is I’m white and MTV is pop (pop=shit 95% of tha time), so as rap and hiphop starts to move in that drrection the sound is obviously gonna change. Pop, like sugar is good in smll doses but ultimately rotts your brain , I’ma stick with Xzibit, at least he stays close to his roots(no pun intended :P).

You know why ya’ll are acting so emotional over this blog, cause ya’ll know it’s the truth, and damn does it show. This isn’t something that happened overnight. Hip hop’s stranglehold on commercial young America has been coming loose for about the past 2-3 years now. It’s not a bad thing it’s just times are evolving and masses of white people are going back to “their roots”
Look at MTV’s shows reality based shows and musical format- Laguna Beach, Oceans 11, and the MTV movie awards. White folks are starting to see that if you aren’t from the ghetto, and you aren’t black, then acting like you are is so 2002. Like they say, “It’s a movement” People are starting to realize ghetto culture is not black culture, and ghetto couture’ from some artists is starting too hurt their record sales. People all along have said that the majority of rap buyers and listeners are white. So what happens when they leave………

haha the real problem here is that a white kid cant be real into hip hop culture, buy hip hop clothes etc without people saying “hes tryin to be black”.

selling music nowadays is all about selling a whole culture to go with it too. its like with the whole rock revival right now, their selling not only the music, but also the tight jeans, the band hoodies, fucking gay 4 inch fringe of hair in front of your face the whole package.

fact is, white kids are 70 % of the hip hop cd buyers, so if you cant offer them a way to get into hip hop culture and not be called “whiggers” then sales are gonna keep goin down.

i think seeing more white rappers would help, right now its eminem and thats it and hes fallen off anyway. oh yeah pall wall too. even just more white guys chillin in rap videos etc. not saying that this is what *should* happen, but its what would get white kids into it more again.
