nobody was there for you huh lil' homey?

I feel your pain that this Hip-Hop music has gone to trash, but where is your perspective on who runs this rap shit? the 70's vs. 80's baby civil war bullshit is more T.I. propaganda to make dumb niggas think that they big brothers don't have no love for them.

all the shit we had to go through with the police and now y'all think that shit is sweet by accident. yeah, work needs to be done and Hip-Hop needs to be chopped up from the inside out.

if you 80's babies want to help your big brothers get it right then let that come from your lips and not this bullshit vitriolic banter. Up to this point the only thing that cats with laptops have done is complain.

get active and change your mans-n-them Saigon mySpace picture while you at it. that shit is not hardbody. that shit is homo.

I know some the executives discussed in the blog and as much as we want to blame them, lets be clear the power of media outlets like MTV and ClearChannel can't be underestimated. Throw into the equation mass merchants such as Wal-Mart censoring albums and refusing to put product onto its shelves. The breakdown of "minor-league" labels such as Rawkus and the disappearance of college-radio combined to shut down the pipe-line of new talent and music to the masses. As much as we complain about the labels its really all linked together. Mass Merchands won't buy records from distributors who relay their distaste to label executives. Radio won't break new music and the baby majors don't exist to offer an alternative. In the end the consumer and hip-hop fans suffer. With increasing amounts of stores cutting back on music on their racks its a stark future for independent artists who are trying to compete with major releases. The internet may offer the only hope for cats trying to make it out the jungle of copycat artists. We need more live shows and fans have to demand more diversity in their music. I hope the next generation of music executives understand the business model needs to change.

AND AS FOR THE RAP GAME ITSELF, RIGHT NOW IT IS BORING. WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, I ONLY LISTEN TO MUSIC IF IT CATCHES MY EAR. IF THE RAP GAME IS GOING TO GET IT'S FLAVOR BACK IT'S GOING TO NEED TO ADD SOME LAWRY'S(THE BEST SEASONING SALT). MAJORITY OF THE RAPPERS ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT THE SAME STUFF THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO. PEOPLE HATING ON JAY, BUT THAT IS THE ONLY TIME RAP MUSIC BECOMES INTERESTING AND WORTH LISTENING TO, ASIDE FROM POSITIVE RAPPERS, AS WELL AS "REAL" GIFTED LYRICIST. THE ONLY REASON JAY PROBABLY AIN'T RETIRE YET, ASIDE FROM THINKING ILL LYRICS CONSTANTLY, IS BECAUSE IF HE DOES,HE MIGHT FEEL THAT RAP WILL DIE. ASIDE FROM LL COOL J, BUSTA RHYMES, JAY-Z, AND 50 CENT,WITH EXCEPTION TO A FEW MORE, THE REST OF THE RAPPERS DON'T CARE ABOUT HAVING LONG CAREERS. THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY, DO THEIR SHOWS, SELL WHATEVER TYPE OF RECORDS, AND THEN JUST SPLURGE ALL THEIR MONEY ON FRIVILOUS THINGS, AND FORGET ABOUT THEIR FANS UNTIL THEY NEED MORE MONEY. THANKS TO 50 CENTS, U CAN DROP A HOT VERSE ON A MIXTAPE, BE HEARD BY THE RIGHT PERSON, AND BE SIGNED IN LESS THAN 2 SECONDS NOW. THANKS TO JAY-Z FOR OPENING HIS MIND, GOING AGAINST THE GRAIN, AND MAKING ORDINARY HOOD DUDES BECOME MORE INTUNE WITH THEMSELVES', AS WELL AS, BUSINESS SAVVY. I SAY IT LIKE THIS, THANK YOU TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO PAVED THE WAY FOR THE NEW INDUSTRY.
P.S. NOT ON NO JOCKING TIP, BUT I ALWAYS THOUGHT SICKAMORE WAS AT LEAST 4 YEARS OLDER THAN ME, BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN BUYING HIS CD'S FOR YEARS, AND TO GO ON MYSPACE AND FIND OUT THAT HE IS YOUNGER THAN MORE, AND AS SUCESSFUL AS HE IS JUST ASSURES ME THAT HARDWORK AND DEDICATION DEFINITELY PAY OFF, FOR SOME SOONER THAN OTHERS, BUT TIMELY. SO LETS NOT FORGET, AND NOT HATE, BUT PAY HOMAGE TO THE ONES THAT CAME BEFORE US, BECAUSE OUR CREATIVITY JUST EXTENDS FROM WHERE THEIR CREATIVE MINDS LEFT OFF, AND THE SAME FOR THEM.

ONE LOVE

THANKS TO 50 CENTS, U CAN DROP A HOT VERSE ON A MIXTAPE, BE HEARD BY THE RIGHT PERSON, AND BE SIGNED IN LESS THAN 2 SECONDS NOW. THANKS TO JAY-Z FOR OPENING HIS MIND, GOING AGAINST THE GRAIN, AND MAKING ORDINARY HOOD DUDES BECOME MORE INTUNE WITH THEMSELVES’, AS WELL AS, BUSINESS SAVVY. I SAY IT LIKE THIS, THANK YOU TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO PAVED THE WAY FOR THE NEW INDUSTRY.
P.S. NOT ON NO JOCKING TIP, BUT I ALWAYS THOUGHT SICKAMORE WAS AT LEAST 4 YEARS OLDER THAN ME, BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN BUYING HIS CD’S FOR YEARS, AND TO GO ON MYSPACE AND FIND OUT THAT HE IS YOUNGER THAN MORE, AND AS SUCESSFUL AS HE IS JUST ASSURES ME THAT HARDWORK AND DEDICATION DEFINITELY PAY OFF, FOR SOME SOONER THAN OTHERS, BUT TIMELY. SO LETS NOT FORGET, AND NOT HATE, BUT PAY HOMAGE TO THE ONES THAT CAME BEFORE US, BECAUSE OUR CREATIVITY JUST EXTENDS FROM WHERE THEIR CREATIVE MINDS LEFT OFF, AND THE SAME FOR THEM.

What I really hate is the fact that it's known that it is hard for new artist to get in the game, whether u are a 70's, 80's, or 90's baby. So why don't the people who feel that "us" eighties babies(80)sould takeover and do our thing, make it somewhat easier at making that goal achievable. My thing with the mainstream industry is that they don't give us upcoming artists a chance to show what we could really do. I always hear that demos are thrown away on a daily basis, I mean think about it, if I had bread to put my music out myself then I wouldn't be looking for a deal. So why not take into consideration that this person has put money that they really don't have, into an investment, then on top of that, time spent in the studio, which is no easy 1,2 in and out job,and for someone to not even listen to it and just throw it away. At the end of the day I see why now and Sick has made it clear why they do this, because they don't want us to pick up the pieces that they dropped before they do. I am happy that I am signed to a independant label, so I don't have to shop, or be rejected because they don't see what I see, I am also grateful that my team is determined to win at all expense. And when I do kick the doors open I'm letting everybody deserving of it in, because at the end of the day when u take all the money away,SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME THRIVE.
p.s. so much more could be made.
