I seek refuge in that in Hip Hop’s current state, the drought of good lyricists. As much as I would like Jay-Z to return to the game I feel he knew that it was time to make the transition behind the boards before it was too late. I look at it like this.. He achieved and showed the younguns on the come up how to do it and he didnt get greedy. Now he’s gone its like the Hip Hop game came crumblin down cz they’re aint no good music or lyricists anymore just crunk, clicks, guns, hoes and drugs.. I cant listen to none of that sh*t, it pollutes my ear drums. The way how Jay spoke bout the criminal/flamboyant life was an art in itself and I dont think no1 will ever fill his shoes.. I mean Hip Hop today is wack!!! I bin a listener from I was 3 so I seen the transitions that have followed.. The only Hip Hop I listen to is from the Reasonable Doubt era cz daz wen all the lyricists were about nowadays you got drugs dealers and street bums thinking just cz they are known on the street they’re qualified to rap. I dont know bout you guys but I seek my solace in Indie/Pop/Bossa Nova/House cz the lyrics and songs are more stimulating… A message to those that can make a difference in the Hip Hop scene.. BRING BACK THE GOOD STUFF!!!
