He’s right, Tony Yayo’s album went plat world wide, but not in the US. Game’s debut did 2 million here, but Game’s record did have some hot ass beats. They were mostly explosive, which alone draws the listener in. I want to see if he can do an album without all the big names. His debut had Just Blaze, Timbo, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kanye West, and Havoc on it, all with a good track record. Busta’s album is crack thoughm Dre’s beats were the best I’ve heard him do in a while, but Sha Money had the best record on the album. Tony Yayo’s album was just like all the other G-unit albums, mostly unkown producers. Game going right back to that formula, best producers to make his album hot, the beat keeps the person listening, but he had average lyrics, wasn’t nothing special. Wait till Busta’s number’s come back. 300,000.

I agree with the last 4 people. How u gon be in the game for 15 yrs and still have all this hype surroundin your new album and its hot! Let’s face ur lucky if u get any buzz on 2 albums let alone 7(basically 10 w/LONS and The imperial Flipmode album) Thats unheard of in HipHOp. Now I dont think Busta will go mad times platinum but doesnt have to though. He is a legend on his own. If he was not relevant he would not get a deal from a label. He has also been around long enough so that he isnt getting fucked in his deal.
look at it this way most of the newer rappers go double – wood first time out. Thats with the label spending dough just so you know who is MC No-name is. Busta is someone the label will invest in because he has a track record and a built in audience.

Maybe you dont realize this but artists make their money touring & by endorsements. Its how artists like say Talib who isnt going to go double plat or even gold stay paid.

There is no retirement age in hip hop. There will simply be the time when you have no audience. Many of these rappers didnt go college some dont even finish high school. They arent going to all be getting high profile label jobs or movie careers to retire to. Busta , Nas, Too Short, and LL to a lesser degree are just the start of “the closing in on 40 rapper”.
