I can tell you the problem with hip hop…..it is the artist. I dont care about your grill, your rims or your private jets. We need music that helps us connect to images in our lives and helps us correlate occurances’ in our own lives with music. Someone above was commenting on the likes of eminem and paul wall as honkies. Well listen here nigger, i am white and the two best mc’s in the game are eminem and papoose….period. Lets not make music a element to signify a race, cause before you know it, those honkies will shut you and your music down. Please dont be decevied by the music videos and being a “trapstar”, ask young jeezy how much he would be singin “i luv it” in rikers. This country is only 15% non-white and about 6% of that number is currently incarcerated. get your mind right asshole. First of all i resent the attempt to start another coast war by calling southern rap “crap”. There is no need for this, New York rap has pretty much played itself by starting the ‘My producer can rap and dance in my video too BS’and Yo son i killed ya whole family dressed up in a milkman costume. Pure nonsense. I don’t know how many times i threw up when i saw shiny sequence run across the tv in front of your favorite hardcore New York rapper. Second, when you say ‘king of New York’ Why every rapper turn around. How about lets get together and make our own Def Jam or sony. The average rapper aint rappin to make good music they are more concerned with that fake ass rented ice that we keep hearing about and seeing. Artists like black moon, Smif n wesson, and many others tried to hold it down for Ny but marketing schemes is what killed the average Ny raper they been swimming in it too long. And last Don’t hate on the UGK’s, MJG’s, Etc they been in the game for a long time just doin what they did 15 years ago; just rap.
