Erykah Badu Outlines Her Hip-Hop Cred

Erykah Badu has long been a fixture within the hip-hop community. Miss Badu made her reigns coming up as an R&B singer helming from out of Dallas, TX. Badu has since went on to become one of the greatest voices in genre, not to mention the mother of children she birthed with a few hip-hop notable MCs, Andre 3000 from Outkast, Jay Electronica and the D.O.C.

Recently Badu has been on the road as a headligning act on the 2001 Rock The Bells tour while she's not busy playing DJ gigs. Last weekend the trek hit the New York City region and MTV2's Sucker Free caught up with the famed singer where she touched on her place within the hip-hop game. Hit the clip for the breakdown.
