News broke over the weekend that Jay Electronica is Roc Nation’s newest signee, and the move elicited what seemed to be a mixed reaction from Diddy.

“Damn it hurts in a whole other way when someone you felt and I mean really felt was your Friend, Betrays you,” Puffy tweeted on Saturday (November 13) without naming any names, not long after the reports initially surfaced. “It hurts when [you] Breathe.” Then, this morning, Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg said on his radio show with Cipha Sounds that Puff informed him he was happy for Electronica, although, he added he was "at a loss for words."

Diddy had been rumored for several months to have some sort of working relationship with the New Orleans-bred MC, but nothing had been substantiated. Jay had made references to the Bad Boy founder in lyrics and the two collaborated on the track “The Ghost of Christopher Wallace,” released last April.

This morning, however, Diddy again took to Twitter, this time to clear up any speculation of hard feelings. “Before we start the week off with Rumors," he wrote, "I am not mad at Jay Z! I'm not mad at anyone! Jz was not the friend I was referring 2 Be clear."

Jay Elec then responded bluntly with his own set of tweets. “You should be more clear than that too brother," he posted, adding, "betrayal is a serious allegation. real talk. And you know im gonnabe me so i ant gonna be holding my tongue if you gon be out here emotional and wreckless with it.”

Diddy responded once more, seemingly ending any tension that had been mounting. “I proud of you," he typed with an exclamation point. "I'm happy for you. I love you! I congratulate you' I'm not mad at you! All I wanna do is see you win! All love.” —Adam Fleischer
