Lil Wayne can breathe easy. A little over a week after accepting a plea deal for a 2008 drug charge in Arizona, the rap superstar was sentenced to three years probation today (June 30) via satellite in Yuma County Superior Court, reports Reuters.

As expected, the rapper—who is currently serving a one-year bid in New York’s Rikers Island for attempted criminal possession of a weapon—was spared jail time after entering a guilty plea to one count of possession of a dangerous drug . Under the terms of his agreement, charges for narcotics possession, weapons misconduct and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed.

"We're quite glad that we were able to wrap everything up," Wayne lawyer, James Tilson, told Reuters. "It's a favorable plea agreement that will allow Mr. Carter to pursue his career."
