Lil Boosie Pleads Not Guilty to Murder Charge

Lil Boosie, pleaded not guilty on Monday (June 28) to murder, drug and conspiracy charges.

As previously reported, the rapper, born Torrence Hatch, was indicted by an East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury on the first degree murder charge on June 17. He is being accused of being one of three killers in the shooting death of Terry Boyd, in addition to two counts of conspiracy to introduce contraband into a penal institution, three counts of possession with intent to distribute narcotics, and three counts of conspiracy to commit possession with intent to distribute narcotics.

After yesterday's arraignment Boosie’s lawyers told The Advocate that he’s “absolutely not guilty” and stated that although they have no idea what the evidence against him is, “there’s a lot of rumor and innuendo.”

Investigators are also looking into whether or not Boosie was involved at least five other murders since last year, including the the death of Chris Lynell "Nussie" Jackson, found dead in a Baton Rouge home February 2009, with a gunshot wound to the head. Nussie was a local up and coming rapper who'd made a name for himself by questioning Bad Azz's street credibility and the FBI had reason to believe he'd put a $30,000 bounty of his head as revenge.

The 27 year-old MC is scheduled to appear in front of the judge again on October 14. —Brooklyne Gipson
