Fans won’t have to wait another eight more years for a new album from famed Queens lyricist Pharoahe Monch. It was announced today that the former Organized Konfusion MC has signed a deal with Duck Down records, to release his third solo LP, W.A.R. (We Are Renegades).

Back in September, Pharaohe told XXLMag.com that he split with SRC Records to form his own label W.A.R. Media. Now he seems excited to have found a company to partner with for next full-length project. "I'm incredibly excited about my upcoming release W.A.R. (We Are Renegades) and my new partnership between my company W.A.R. Media, LLC, and Duck Down Music,” he said in a press release.

The disc, which Monch says, “deals with conflicts and resolutions of the spirit, the soul, the government, and the industry among other things,” features appearances by Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid, Jean Grae, Styles P, Phonte and Black Thought. So far, Marco Polo, Exile and Lee Stone are among the producers slated for the project.

In related news Monch will be joining fellow wordsmiths Slaughterhouse on their Canadian tour, throughout the month of April. Pharaohe, Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5'9" will begin their 16-date trek on April 3 in New Brunswick. —Elan Mancini
