Ja Rule may have lost a battle in court today (January 20) in regards to his 2007 gun charge, but he hasn’t lost the war.

As previously reported, on July 22, 2007 Ja Rule was hemmed up by New York City police officers and arrested after a search of his Maybach resulted in the discovery of a .40 caliber, unlicensed handgun.

According to The New York Post, this morning Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Richard Carruthers denied a motion made last Spring arguing that the police officers had no reason to search his car in the first place.

“We disagree with the decision, but we’ll tend to other issues now,” Ja’s defense lawyer Stacey Richman said.

Planning to continue to fight the case, Richman says her next move is to question the methodology investigators used to match DNA on the gun to Rule.
