Listen to Kevin Gates, “Really Really”

For all the glamour and industry events you can find on the coasts, Louisiana remains one of the most important hotbeds of hip-hop music in the country. Baton Rouge in particular can boast of being home to two of the best rappers in the world right now, in the form of Boosie BadAzz and Kevin Gates. Today (Oct. 5), the two intersect, on a single from Gates' forthcoming debut album, Islah. Though not a collaboration, "Really Really" sees Gates repurpose Boosie's single of the same name, which was dropped after his album Touchdown 2 Cause Hell (and has since seemingly been scrubbed from the Internet.) In any event, the former XXL Freshman looks to build on the considerable amount of clout and goodwill he built up with his series of four acclaimed mixtapes in 2013 and 2014. Islah is slated for a December 11 release.
