Chris Brown has had, to put it lightly, a complicated month. The superstar singer won shared custody of his daughter--and had a Houston judge decree that she would take his last name. But he's also likely to be banned from Australia, and therefore forced to cancel a planned four-date tour through the country in December. Complicating all of this is the assault case in Colorado that has threatened to derail his ongoing image rehabilitation. Earlier in September, a woman claimed that she had been physically thrown off Brown's tour bus after a music video shoot featuring the star, French Montana and 2015 XXL Freshman Fetty Wap. But according to TMZ, that case is unlikely to go any further.

The outlet reports that local authorities have marked the case 'inactive,' which usually spells the end of the road for a criminal investigation of any sort. The woman who initially filed the complaint has reportedly hired an attorney and said she does not want to pursue matters any further. Brown recently dropped the self-directed video for "Liquor/Zero," the double single from his forthcoming album, Royalty. His previous solo album, X, spawned a handful of hits, the biggest by far being the inescapable "Loyal," which sported contributions from Lil Wayne, Tyga, French Montana and Too $hort, depending on the version you heard. Earlier this year, he and Tyga teamed up for Fan of a Fan: The Album, their second full-length collaboration and first to hit retail shelves.
