Q-Tip took to the Central Park Summer Stage this past Saturday (July 18), with Diddy coming out for a quick cameo to the surprise of the hundreds in attendance.

After dedicating his performance to the memory of Michael Jackson and J Dilla, the Jamaica, Queens rapper launched into classic A Tribe Called Quest catalog cuts, including “Oh My God,” “Sucka Nigga,” and “Bonita Applebum” during which the concertgoers were two-steppin’ in unison.

With DJ Scratch on the ones and twos, Tip rocked back and forth between Tribe cuts and solo material, such as “We Fight/We Love” and “You” from last year's The Renaissance and “Vivrant Thing” from '99's Amplified, during which the Bad Boy head honcho ran out for his signature diddy bop, before Tip closed up shop with “Award Tour.”

Both artists have projects in the works with Diddy's Last Train to Paris set to arrive in the fall and Q-Tip's unreleased solo album, 2002's Kamaal The Abstract, finally hitting shelves come September 15. -Devin Chanda
