Following in Wu-Tang brethren Method Man’s footsteps, Ghostface Killah has written a comic book set for release from the Hachete Book Group later this month.

According to the book company’s website, Cell Block Z, tells the story of a one-time boxing contender who gets wrongfully arrested for murder. Once locked up, the man who shares a blatantly similar name to Ghost, Cole Dennis, finds out about an evil plan to turn inmates into bioweapons.

Ghost got a helping hand from L.A.-based screenwriters Marlon Chapman and Shaunna Garr as well as Chris Walker (Marvel, Bad Boy, Adidas), who handled the book's illustrations.

Cell Block Z is set to hit stands on July 29.

Ghost is not the only Wu-Tang MC to get his own comic book. Last year partner-in-rhyme Method Man dropped his own graphic novel on Hachete and Sky Farm Studios is currently working on a new book titled Attack of the Brooklyn Super Ninjas, starring The Rza.

In related news the Shaolin rap staple is currently working on his new R&B flavored album, The Wizard of Poetry. The disc will feature a long list of hip-hop crooners including John Legend, Musiq Soulchild, Lloyd, Estelle and Raheem DeVaughn and is set to come out some time this fall. –Elan Mancini
