The day has finally arrived. Atlanta rap giant T.I. is scheduled to report to federal corrections prison in Forrest City, Arkansas today for his weapons conviction.

According to the Associated Press a roadblock has been set up around the prison complex awaiting the rapper’s arrival. While Tip was supposed to turn himself by noon, as of press time it is unclear if he has arrived yet. [Editor's note: see update below]

Traci Billingsley, a spokeswoman for the The U.S.’s federal prison system, said that Tip would not be receiving any special treatment once incarcerated despite his celebrity status.

Sentenced to a year and one day behind bars, the Grand Hustle will be eligible for an early release - most likely 10 months - if he displays good behavior. Once free he will still have to serve two more months on house arrest, 470 hours of community service and will be on probation for three years. Tip has already spent 305 days on home confinement, over 1,500 hours of community service and $100,000 in fines. – Elan Mancini

Update: TMZ reports that T.I. checked himself into the prison earlier than his 12 p.m. deadline.
