Oakland is still grieving the loss of Oscar Grant, the unmarmed black man who was killed by BART police officer Johannes Mehserle on videotape this past New Year's Eve.

Initially fleeing the state, Mehserle was later captured in Nevada and has since been charged with murder. He plead not guilty and is presently being held without bail. The citizens of Oakland, including Bay Area staple Mistah F.A.B., are hoping history doesn't repeat itself and will accept nothing less than a conviction. XXLMag.com recently caught up with the MC to get insight into Oakland's current state of mind.

"Everybody go to see how cold and how cruel these people that’s supposed to be governing us, how they are," F.A.B. told XXL. "It was basically, the city is frustrated. This is not the first time that this has happened. Last year alone, the police department had 15 murders alone, just themselves. It was like one of those feelings like, ‘We fed up, dawg.’ And now the whole country, the whole world knows that this is going on, we gon show you how we gon respond." [Watch Video Below]

"Some cats took it to the streets, rioting, burning up stuff, looting, it was just like, ‘We need some justice,'" he continued. "And in the words of the old negro song, 'No justice, no peace.' We gon' keep going until something is going right. They arrested the cop, charged him with murder, so now we just seeing if the charges gon' stick…And hopefully bring some kind of justification to an unjust situation." -Marvin Brandon
