In an interview with DJ Vlad, Brooklyn rapper Uncle Murda revealed that he is no longer on Def Jam Recordings.

Murda signed with the label under Jay- Z’s “Carter administration in 2007, but since Hov’s departure he said everything went sour. “I’m no longer with Def Jam,” he said. “Things didn’t work out over there once Jay-Z left it was like you know, they didn’t really know what to do with Uncle Murda after that." The gangsta rapper, who made headlines in January of 2008 after he was the victim of a gunshot wound to the head, says that while he is no longer on Def Jam , he is still with his mentor DJ Green Lantern and Violator Management. “We were just with [Violator big] Chris Lighty in Miami for the new year,” he added in good spirits. “I was at my first P. Diddy party."

An optimistic Murda parted by saying he just dropped the new mixtape Back on my Bullshit and he’s ready to sign another deal. “I’m still relevant,” he declared. “I’m still that nigga. And we gonna get a new situation.” – Elan Mancini
