Legendary hip-hop DJ Grandmaster Flash is set to put out his first album in over 20 years with the release of The Bridge: Concept of a Culture next year and he has recruited a star-studded line up to celebrate his return.

Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip, Snoop Dogg, Big Daddy Kane, KRS-ONE and “Miss Rap Supreme” runner up Byata will all be featured on the album, set to drop in March of ’09.

"As a DJ, I've been blessed to see many different people, places and styles," Flash said in a statement. "The album title represents all the bridges I've crossed worldwide."

The iconic DJ made history last year, along with his group the Furious Five, by becoming the first hip-hop act to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Flash, Melle Mel, Cowboy, Kid Creole, Scorpio and Raheim were recognized for their early contributions to rap music, including their groundbreaking song “The Message” and pioneering the use of two turntables and a mixer. - Jesse Gissen
