Travis Barker and DJ AM were critically injured in a plane crash over the weekend (Sept. 20) after leaving a South Carolina gig where the two performed as TRVSDJ-AM.

A total of six men were aboard the Learjet that was scheduled to take off for Van Nuys, California.

Sparks, however, from the plane soon appeared and the apparatus was engulfed in flames.

TMZ is reporting the pilot heard the tire of the plane burst and reported the accident to the control tower. The plane attempted to avoid taking off, but then overran the runway and burst into flames after hitting an embankment. Barker and AM jumped from the plane; the rest on board died almost instantly.

The pair managed to escape, but they each suffered serious burns. The other four men on the plane, including Barker's assistant who was rushing home to his wife who was set to go into labor, died in the blaze. Investigations into the crash have been concluded, according to the National Transportation Safety Board.

Currently, AM is in a doctor-induced coma and is in care at the Joseph Still Burn Center. The DJ was burned on portions of his upper body and face. Barker was burned below his waste; his ex-wife, Shanna Moakler who starred alongside the drummer in MTV's "Meet The Barkers" flew to be with Barker. Mandy Moore, reportedly, also flew to be by AM's side, the pair briefly dated in 2006.

Jermaine Dupri was also seen at the hospital, according to reports.

Both men are in stable condition and are expected to make full recoveries, doctors said.---Anthony Thomas
