At the Sundance Film Festival in Park City Utah this weekend, 50 Cent announced that he will be forming a new film production company with his manager Chris Lighty and producer Randall Emmett. Speaking to MTV News, 50 explained that the as yet unnamed venture will allow him to have more creative control over projects he takes on, in addition to developing his own films in-house. Emmett, a successful Hollywood producer is the name behind two of Fif’s previous film gigs, Home of the Brave and the upcoming Righteous Kill with Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. “I've had a chance to be a part of some great projects with him, and I've watched him work” the rapper explained. “He's knowledgeable in that field, so I thought it would be smart for me to partner up with him to create my production company.” In Righteous Kill, 50 plays the owner of a Harlem nightclub that gets caught up in the hunt for a serial killer. Pacino and De Niro play cops on the killer’s trail. The G-Unit head also announced that he has worked on some material for the film’s soundtrack and a single called “Go Low” will be leaking soon.
