A Manhattan Supreme Court judge today ruled that Remy Ma must stand trial on charges of witness intimidation and gang assault. The charges stem from an August 19 incident at the Player’s Club strip bar in the Bronx. According to authorities, Remy encouraged a group of associates to beat up the boyfriend of a potential witness in the rapper’s shooting case. The incident left the unidentified man with a fractured face and his friend in the hospital for a week. According to the Associated Press, Remy’s attorney, Ivan Fisher argued that prosecutors did not have enough evidence to indict his client on the additional charges. State Supreme Court Justice Rena Uviller rejected Fisher’s argument and adjourned the case until January 3. Remy stands accused of shooting her friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph on July 14 during an argument about stolen money.
