U.S. automotive brand Lincoln has recruited Chicago MC Common for a new marketing campaign touting their 2008 Navigator line of SUVs. Through this exclusive partnership, the rapper will appear in Lincoln’s nationwide television, radio and print campaigns for the 2008 Navigator model. The first TV spot, called “Common,” will air on November 25 during the NFL Sunday Night Football broadcast on NBC. The spot is said to spotlight the people, places and experiences that shaped the MC during his upbringing in Chicago. The print and radio spots will follow in 2008. Additionally, Com’s music will be licensed for use in ad spots on TV and web, and he will be performing and making appearances on behalf of Lincoln in support of the campaign. There will also be tie-ins with his books, line of hats and his live tour. Lincoln has also agreed to support Common's nonprofit organization, the Common Ground Foundation and will be sponsoring the Start the Show n' Bowl fundraising event in February of 2008. "I am very enthused and honored to connect with Lincoln, "said Common in a statement announcing the deal. “I believe that this union will be creative, fresh, and classic. Most importantly, it's a way for Lincoln and me to give back to the community and people in need."
