screamfest.jpgWho says New York hip-hop is lacking unity? On Wednesday night (August 22), 50 Cent, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Swizz Beatz, Diddy and T.I. all appeared on stage together in Madison Square Garden for the 2007 Screamfest tour. According to MTV News, T.I., who headlines Screamfest with Ciara, orchestrated the historic moment, as fans were stunned to see six of the biggest names in hip-hop on the same stage. 50 Cent was the first artist to make a “surprise” appearance on stage, performing “Can’t Leave Him Alone” with his rumored girlfriend, Ciara. Afterwards, Fif brought out his G-Unit soldiers — Lloyd Banks, Mobb Deep and Tony Yayo — for an impromptu performance of his smash hit, “I Get Money.” But that was only the start of a historic night. During T.I.’s set, the King of the South called out Jay-Z to perform their collaborative song off T.I. vs. T.I.P., “Watch What You Say.” If that wasn’t enough, Hov then ushered in Kanye West, who performed his new single, “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.” That’s when things really started to get interesting. During ‘Ye’s performance, 50 Cent ran on stage to join Jay, T.I. and Kanye. Then, out of nowhere, Diddy made an entrance and joined the group. With everyone on stage, Jay-Z then performed “Encore,” which prompted Swizz Beatz and Clara to join in on the fun. Swizzy, not wanting to feel lost in the shuffle, also performed his single, “Money in the Bank.” As the show ended, T.I. ran through more of his hits — “What You Know?” and “Big Things Poppin’” — as Screamfest ended with a bang.
