diddy1.jpgA spokesman for the LA city attorney’s office said on Friday (July 20) that no charges will be filed against Sean “Diddy” Combs in an alleged case of assault at an Oscar Awards after party. According to the New York Post, the spokesman declined to cite the reason the case has been dropped, saying only that "There was insufficient evidence." Gerard Rechnitzer, a real estate agent from L.A., claims that the Bad Boy mogul punched him in the face during a dispute involving the man’s girlfriend. Rechnitzer filed suit against Diddy in March seeking unspecified damages. The story goes that Rechnitzer was on his way out of a party at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood

when he stopped to use the restroom. When he exited, he saw his fiancé surrounded by a group of about six men that included Combs. According to the papers filed on Friday, Diddy said to the man, “What the fuck you looking at dude? I’ll smack flames out of your ass!” At that point, the plantiff claims, Diddy punched him in the jaw, sending him flying backwards. "People who are superstars are always vulnerable to these allegations,” Diddy’s attorney, Benjamin Brafman said yesterday in response to the case’s dismissal.
